For over fifteen years I've kept a dream diary. Every morning I write down whatever bits of my dreams I can remember however bizarre or mundane. Sometimes I dream whole other lives, storylines for creative projects, dialogues etc. and sometimes I dream things that are as dull as making custard, literally. I've been looking through them all today and I was really surprised at the dreams I've had and totally forgotten, and I was also surprised at how many of my dreams came true or foretold symbols that would crop up in my life at a later date. I've met people in my dreams before I met them in reality and I've dreamed things that I didn't know and people told me later. Because dreams are in a figurative language of metaphor and symbol these 'foretellings' aren't like a film of what will happen and I never know which of them will come true and which won't.None of the dreams that came true have been particularly portentous in any way, often they are quite mundane things. For example about 6 months ago I dreamed I found a box of soaps that I didn't know I had, I sorted them out and decided to keep some because they were still ok. A couple of weeks ago we were clearing out my daughter's room and she found a box of soaps she had collected as a child. We sat together and sorted them out and decided to keep some of them as they were still ok.
Interesting to me but not meaningful to anybody else. And yet I realise that obviously there is something about the way time works that we don't understand just yet.
10 out of 10 if you know which song the title of the blog comes from.

Time seems to be circular, not linear. But I hope that doesn't mean I have to go through all this again!
According to Nietzsche you do, but I think he lost the plot a bit!
Alarm Call by Bjork but it was a bit easy (to me)!
I seem to be having lots of Transformers dreams where I am watching the film but end up being in it and it's real, not a film. I haven't even seen it yet!
oo-er I saw the trailer and I was scared (pathetic eh!) can you see yourself in the film? have you become a transformer? maybe its telling you something about transforming yourself.
10 out of 10 on the bjork meter.
No I am human and have to run away from the Transformers and I'm really scared of them. No idea what that could mean then ;)
The film wasn't as scary as the trailer - a pretty dodgy script but did have some funny cheesy moments.
let's just hope it wasn't one of the coming true type of dreams then.
